From Young Cons:
Hurricane Irma is yielding a lot of incredible videos. But one is going viral for all the wrong reasons.
A group of people was breaking into Simon’s Sportswear on Sunrise Blvd. and Powerline Road in Fort Lauderdale as the storm was beginning to kick up.
Because isn’t the first thing on your mind just as the mother of all storms is about to hit whether or not you have killer sneakers?
The group of about 8-9 people broke through the front window and were seen walking in and then walking out with stolen items.
The group then began looting a Footlocker and CashAmerica Pawn Store in the same area.
But even in the middle of a hurricane, as these slimy folks found, things weren’t just theirs for the taking.
Hours later, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department tweeted that they had caught the criminals.
“Going to prison over a pair of sneakers is a fairly bad life choice,” said Fort Lauderdale police chief Rick Maglione. “Stay home and look after your loved once and be thankful they are all safe.”
(YC) – Really can’t find feel sorry for these people. If you’re so pathetic lacking in a conscience that you rip off people during a disaster, you deserve whatever the justice system wants to mete out to you.
You chose poorly…
